We mobilise philanthropic capital and accelerate important medical research.
Fundamental science does not begin by asking, 'what will this deliver?' but 'how does this actually work?' That question can seem like a luxury, but it is not. The greatest breakthroughs in human health did not begin with a business plan, but with a scientist trying to understand how something works. It is the foundation on which other scientists and entrepreneurs can build solutions.
Yet the Dutch and European scientists doing this work spend more and more time on grant applications instead of science. Even a strong application can still be rejected because resources are limited. We exist to help change that.
We focus specifically on research that contributes to longer healthy lives. What matters to us is the quality of the fundamental science and its potential for meaningful impact available to other scientists and companies. On this foundation, new discoveries and solutions become possible.
Lenos Foundation maintains a governance structure that follows the guidelines for good governance of charitable organisations.
Our board members receive no compensation.
We are a non-profit foundation established by the team behind Lenos Equity. Here, we use our proven expertise in due diligence and scaling to support European research.
